Time and Zep Tepi
Zep Tepi, the “First Time,” is the eternal moment of creation, the pristine dawn when the One breathed order into the waters of chaos and light first rose upon the horizon of becoming. In the sacred science of Kemet, time is not a linear march from past to future, but a living cycle — a continuous return to the First Time, wherein the eternal is ever-present.
Through the mysteries of time, the ancients taught that every cycle, whether solar, lunar, or stellar, carries within it the seed of renewal. The rising of Sirius, the turning of the seasons, the measured flow of sacred festivals — all are reflections of cosmic rhythm, harmonizing the life of the land and the soul with the eternal pulse of the heavens. By aligning with these rhythms, the initiate enters into conscious participation with the divine order.
For the seeker, to contemplate Zep Tepi is to awaken remembrance. It is to perceive the present moment as a portal to eternity, and to live in awareness that every breath carries the possibility of return. Through devotion, sacred timing, and alignment with celestial measures, the soul learns to walk in harmony with the eternal cycle, where beginning and end are one.
